Trampoline and safety

How to practice trampolining safely

First and foremost, it is important to know that trampolining is not a risky activity as long as certain safety rules are followed.

The first step is to choose the right trampoline

Cornilleau’s Spring and Springcare trampolines have been designed to offer maximum safety. Both models benefit from a robust galvanized steel structure, a resistant safety net, and curved poles to prevent collisions. Both models have been engineered to avoid any contact between the feet and the springs.

On the Springcare model, the springs have been replaced by bungees, which are covered by double-thickness foam. On the Spring model, the springs are located outside the jumping surface, separated by the protective net. To ensure optimal safety, our trampolines are TÜV SÜD / GS certified, the benchmark certification in this field issued by an independent body.

Accidents are very often caused by improper use of the trampoline.
Respecting safety advice is essential:

  • - Number of jumpers: no more than one person at a time should jump on the trampoline.
  • - Minimum age: our trampolines are not suitable for children under 3 years old.
  • - Supervision: The use of the trampoline must always take place under the supervision of an adult. We recommend increased supervision for children under 7 years old.
  • - Objects on the trampoline and in pockets: do not leave any objects on the trampoline surface that could cause an impact. Objects in jumpers' pockets are also likely to cause injury and must be removed before entering the jumping area.
  • - Wearing socks: trampolining must be practiced without shoes.
  • - Acrobatics: somersaults and other acrobatics are a common source of accidents and should be avoided.
  • - Weather conditions: check the weather conditions before using your trampoline. If the mat is wet, the user risks slipping and getting injured. High winds can also cause a loss of balance.

Although the net protects against falls, it is best to always jump in the center of the trampoline.

Acrobatics: somersaults and other acrobatics are a source of accidents and should be avoided.

The trampoline must be installed outdoors, or in a space with sufficient height to avoid impacts.

The trampoline should not be installed under a tree to avoid impacts and falling branches.

Leave a clearance of at least 8 meters in height above the jumping surface.

Ensure the trampoline is placed on a flat surface.

Protect the trampoline from bad weather, especially in case of strong winds.

Leave a 2-meter clearance around the trampoline for added safety.

Before using the trampoline, remove any objects from under the jumping surface.

Do not use the trampoline in bad weather.

Avoid contact with sharp objects; do not use the trampoline with shoes.

All operating instructions are also included in the manual provided with the Spring and Springcare trampolines.

Trampoline Certification

Certification by recognized independent bodies is a guarantee of safety confidence. Among the most prominent, the German TÜV SÜD GS certification and the French certification issued by the CRITT serve as industry benchmarks. Cornilleau trampolines also comply with the NF EN 71-14 standard.
