A history of innovation
1946
Emile Cornilleau founds the Cornilleau establishments, a woodworking and cabinetry shop that would work on rebuilding homes in the post-war Oise region, a territory scarred by the recently ended global conflict. He expressed his craftsmanship there, and projects were not in short supply. After a few years, he began thinking about diversifying his business, as the construction industry did not fully satisfy his thirst for creation.
1969
First ping-pong tables. BHV, a major Parisian department store, approached Cornilleau because it needed 300 tables quickly. Challenge accepted! Cornilleau transformed itself and specialized in ping-pong. Already, the brand's innovative spirit was evident through the product it managed to create, as well as the way it was manufactured. The company industrialized its expertise and found success in table tennis. Pierre Cornilleau, who joined his father in the business right after finishing his studies, contributed significantly to this success.
1982
Cornilleau enters the world of competition and enlists the services of champion Jacques Secrétin. This collaboration would last nearly 20 years. It helped the brand develop products that were increasingly demanding, innovative, and high-performing. Cornilleau continues to work with champions today, ensuring that the requirements of top-level play are reflected in its products.
1988
First outdoor ping-pong table with solid laminate panels. What seems obvious today was a true revolution at the time. Cornilleau democratized the practice of ping-pong in gardens thanks to the use of this material. Other innovations quickly followed to adapt to outdoor use. Ping-pong then became an outdoor activity.
1995
The Compact table, with its patented technology, revolutionized the market by offering an unparalleled level of safety and ultra-compact storage. It became possible to easily fold and unfold your ping-pong table, move it, and store it while taking up very little space. This process has become a benchmark, widely adopted throughout the world of table tennis.
2000
Previously a specialist in ping-pong tables, the brand completed its offering and launched a full range of indoor rackets. Developed to meet the needs of all types of players, these rackets are packed with technological innovations for the sheer joy of the game.
2005
The world's first outdoor racket, the Tacteo, shook up the market. Made from a composite material, it is resistant to shocks and weather conditions. There is no longer a need to buy new rackets every summer or even worry about bringing them inside at night. The result of several years of development, the Tacteo relies on various patents to offer both high-quality gameplay and unfailing durability. With its colorful look, it quickly established itself as a must-have.
2013
With its capacity to withstand a load of 1,200 kg and its exceptional playing quality, the Park table offers communities a real alternative to concrete ping-pong tables. Truly indestructible, it is popping up in public parks across France and internationally.
2019
The release of the Hyphen outdoor billiard table marked the first step in Cornilleau's strategy to diversify its product range. Three years of research and development were necessary to create a billiard table truly capable of withstanding the outdoors while offering a playing quality that meets the brand's high standards.
2023
Cornilleau develops the Play-Style universe. Following the billiard table, an outdoor table football and a convertible ping-pong table were launched. Serving as a true bridge between the worlds of furniture and gaming, the Play-Style range aims to restore the prestige of these three pastimes and put play back at the heart of our lives.
